桜の花見
桜も満開で、4月になると春を感じますね。
そこで今回は花見に関するワンフレーズ
桜の花見は、Cherry-blossom viewingと言います。
ワシントンＤＣでは、東京から送られた（1912年）桜が満開で、アメリカでもその美しさに感動している方が多いようです。

The cherry blossom season has arrived in Washington DC . Along the banks of the Potomac River , the blossoms are drawing a crowd.
An estimated three-thousand trees of 12 varieties are now in full bloom . They blossomed 3 days earlier than usual.
Some of these trees were a gift from the mayor of Tokyo back in 1912. They are planted along the river that flows near the White House.
"This is a national treasure and it’s important to see it, and to experience it. You watch it on television and it’s not the same as seeing it in person. It's magnificent ."
"It’s a very nice gift that Japan did for the United States. It is just very awesome ."
Some one million people are expected to turn up during the National Cherry Blossom Festival featuring a parade and other events associated with Japan. It runs through April 12th.
アメリカの首都ワシントンＤＣに桜の季節がやってきました。桜の名所ポトマック河畔には大勢の見物客が訪れています。
１２種類、３,０００本あまりの桜が今、満開です。平年より３日早い開花を迎えました。
ワシントンの桜は、１９１２年に当時の東京市長から贈られたもので、ホワイトハウス近くを流れるポトマック川沿いに植えられました。
「ここの桜は国の宝です。（ここで）じかに見て体験することに意味があると思います。テレビで見るのと、実際見るのとではまったく違います。とてもすばらしいです」
「日本からアメリカへの素敵な贈り物ですね。本当に見事です」
「桜祭り」にはおよそ１００万人の人出が予想され、パレードや日本にちなんだ様々な催しが行われます。桜祭りは４月１２日まで開かれています。
